Chatterminds classes run by Carol Powell. Classes help children learn how to navigate the ups and downs of life. Learning about feelings and how to manage them. Carol teaches courses and 1:1 sessions, as well as going into schools and directly supporting families who are experiencing challenging behaviour.
The content of the courses covers thoughts, feelings and emotions, why we might feel certain ways and how to manage the big powerful feelings such as fear, anger and anxiety. Carol talk about what happens in the brain and body when we feel different ways and teaches lots of mindfulness strategies. She also teaches about resilience and growth mindset and how to foster happiness. Chatterminds also cover friendship issues, social media (for older children) and self-esteem. They try to weave in situations that are coming up for the children at the time and always make a creative activity in the session.
