Come and join the PSA Committee!
It’s time to choose our next PSA Committee and we’d love for you to get involved!
Joining the Committee is a brilliant way to meet lovely people and support the school at the same time. You’ll help bring our community together and improve the experience of the students at Ashley Down. You can find out more about the PSA with our information pack (pdf).
There are lots of great roles in the PSA Committee and deciding which one suits you depends on your interests and skills. If you’re worried about your time, all of them can be shared by two people.
You can nominate yourself using the form below and the election happens at the PSA Annual General Meeting on 14 March 2024. All parents, guardians and carers of pupils at Ashley Down and the school staff are members of the PSA and able to vote in the new Committee at the AGM.
You can also nominate someone else using the same form as long as you have that person’s consent.
The roles
Here are the roles that the PSA will be selecting.
Chairperson: The Chair will provide leadership for the committee, set the agenda for meetings, and facilitate the monthly meetings. They are also the main point of contact with the school. They’ll work closely with the Treasurer and the Secretary to make the PSA run effectively.

Secretary: The Secretary makes sure that the PSA runs smoothly and there is great communication between Committee Members, the PSA and the school.

Treasurer: Manages, administers and keeps up-to-date records of all PSA financial transactions. This includes day-to-day management of accounts, including issuing bills and receipts and making payments. It also includes writing a concise Financial Report for the Annual General Meeting and for submission to the Charity Commission.

Events Lead: A vital role within the PSA is managing our events calendar. The Events Lead will help to co-ordinate key fundraising and social events throughout the school year. The events will be run by sub-committees and volunteers, rather than the Events Lead.

Communications Lead: A vital role within the PSA is promoting and communicating our work and events. This person will be a great communicator in writing and in person. They will prepare the fortnightly school newsletter and work closely with the school office to circulate information to parents via email, social media, Whatsapp, posters and the website.
